Committed to Client Satisfaction
What We Offer in Alabama
RGS began as a GIS consulting company assisting municipalities with their infrastructure
management needs in 2012. Since then, RGS has grown into an exceptional civil engineering
consulting firm serving both public and private clients developing facilities and infrastructure across the state of Alabama.

Site Development
Every piece of land is unique and every project is worthy of diligence in planning and design. From half-acre lots and independent small business construction projects to 50-acre plus large scale phased developments, RGS has the skills and expertise to provide efficient designs that work with the land. At RGS we understand the economic impact of design choices; we go the extra mile to balance cut/fill sitework, maximize space efficiency and create solutions with a focus on long term durability. Its more than grading and drainage, it’s planning for the right layout orientation, highest visibility, and easy access while staying on budget and designing for a lasting impact.

Utility Infrastructure
Whether extending miles of new water main, connecting utility services to a new restaurant or sliplining aging sewer infrastructure, RGS has been helping both public and private clients with their utility design needs for over a decade. The right size, the right materials and the right layout are crucial for every utility project. Roadway crossings, utility installation depth and conflict avoidance are all part of design utility projects. To assist in accomplishing projects in small communities with rising material and installation costs, RGS has a proven track record of assisting with grant application writing, planning and design of public utility projects where funding may be available through state and federal initiatives.

Roadways and Transportation
Safety and efficiency in transportation design is our primary goal. From local street design, intersection improvements and state highway turnout permits, RGS is here to help. Geometric street design, widening, striping and roadside drainage are all important factors that require diligence and experience in navigating and planning transportation projects. Our focus is commercial site development. Every site requires access and we work hard to plan that access for efficiency and easy customer entry/exit. At RGS we know that access doesn’t create demand, but poor access will negatively impact customer trip volumes.

Stormwater Management
Stormwater management is an important part of every project. Every jurisdiction has its own set of rules and requirements for design. Stormwater is also a leading cause of damage to facilities when improperly designed and can lead to flooding, erosion and increased maintenance costs. Stormwater technology is constantly evolving; understanding the best system for each project is crucial in designing a best-fit solution for every site. From runoff collection and routing, detention or retention, and outlet structure design to erosion control practices and construction stormwater permitting, RGS has the know-how to ensure compliance and long term-durability of stormwater management systems.
